In the spotlight - Beauty

So your wedding is without a doubt the biggest occasion you are likely to ever plan. There are so many details and so many things to think about that its often overwhelming so I am about to try to help.

Every few weeks I will be focusing on one area of your wedding and with help from experts in the various fields we will put together a whole host of tips and tricks to try to ensure you get the very best from every little detail.
Oh and if there is a particular area you would like me to focus on please let me know!

This week we are talking beauty! After all, it is (along with photography of course) one of the most important aspects of your wedding! Every bride wants to look and feel their absolute best on their day so I have teamed up with Trudy from Surfkissed Beauty to give you loads of tips for you to try in the lead up to your wedding.

So lets start at the beginning because the best bit about beauty is that its not just for Brides!

1. Be sure to wear sunscreen every day to prevent premature ageing. The sun is your worst enemy and protecting your skin is the most important tip to remember not only in the lead up to your day but after it as well.
2. Eat well, drink plenty of water (8 glasses a day is best) and get plenty of exercise and you will start out on the right track
3. Get your beauty sleep! No its not just a saying, your skin does all its repairing and rejuvenating while you sleep.
4. Always remove all your make up before bed.

~OOH JUICY TIPS FOR EVERYONE~

* Buy yourself an eyelash curler, its a quick simple way to open up your eyes in an instant!

* Chances are you will have a teary moment or two throughout your big day so keep some clear eyes in your purse to keep your eyes sparkling all day

* Pop some Bonjella on your brows before waxing and it will be blissful and pain free

* Booking in some pre-wedding waxing? Your pain threshold is at its best between 1and 3pm!

~FOR THE BRIDE TO BE~

*Book early! This applies to all your vendors. Wedding vendors can book up to 18 months in advance! (Yeah...crazy!)

*Make sure you research and feel comfortable with the professionals you choose, your beauty therapist, DJ, Photographer all play a role in your day and if you don't get along with them it can make it very hard.

* Have your trials early and don't be afraid to speak up if you don't like the final outcome. It's your day and you have to look perfect in every way.

* Don't experiment with anything new close to your day; botox, new facials, self tanning products and facial peels could all be disastrous if you react badly.

* Have all your waxing done 2-3 days before your wedding or at the very least 24 hours before having a spray tan. Having it any closer will leave you spotty..and we don't want that!

* Exfoliate at home in the lead up to your tan but be gentle! You only need to be soft, rubbing too hard leaves grazes you may not see but the tan will be darker in these areas when applied.

* If possible don't have your hens night in the week leading up to your wedding, it can take a week for the toxins from the alcohol to come out in your skin (Break outs arrghhh)

* Try to book your trials together so you get an idea of the final look, have your eye lash extensions and tan one day and your hair and make up trial the next, then try it all out with your dress.

~ON YOUR WEDDING DAY~

Make sure you have had a good nights sleep with no alcohol

* Relax and enjoy allowing plenty of time for everything will leave you feeling calm

* Allow one hour per person for hair and make-up

* If you're wearing a strapless dress, take your bra straps off about 3-4 hours before the ceremony

* Waterproof mascara is your best friend! There will be tears!

Did you say eyelash extensions?

This involves attaching individual lashes to your natural lashes, giving you the length & thickness you desire, leaving you with super long, thick, sexy eyelashes.
Unlike stick on lashes, these last a few weeks and if you fall in love with them you can have in-fills and keep them permanently.
Check them out!
