Scott & Louise | Love

There are so many things that photographers are asked to capture but now and then something truly special comes along.

You can imagine my delight when I found this email in my inbox...

"I'm coming to Batemans Bay with my partner. My plan is to propose to her on the beach or somewhere nice and I was wanting this moment captured"

I couldn't wipe the smile from my face, I thought it was the most amazing thing I had ever heard.
The catch? Scott's beautiful, soon to be fiance couldn't know that we had organised this, so I was to become a super sly, secret photographer!
It was fantastic, with emails back and forth trying to organise just how we could pull this off. Scott and Louise had never been here before so we couldn't arrange locations as they had yet to see where they would even be staying!

Scott had it all planned perfectly and together we had it under control.
We would meet beforehand so I knew what Scott looked like so I would find him on the day of the proposal, we had to be good, good enough that Louise wouldn't even see me and wonder what was going on!

Scott, finding it hard to come up with reasons for going on numerous walks, finally got away long enough to phone me, Louise had thrown a spanner in the works and changed their dinner plans to Saturday, so we bought all the plans forward a day and plotted the best plan ever!

I would wait at the Real Estate agent near where they were staying, Scott would suggest a last minute walk on the beach before they went out. He would be wearing black pants and a salmon coloured shirt. They would walk past the real estate agent where I was waiting and on a wink and a smile, I would follow behind them down to the beach and to the carefully planned proposal!

Eeek, I couldn't have been more excited. With the zoom lens on and bottle of Champagne hidden carefully, I waited.... I actually pretended to look at the places in the window! Genius!!! Although I really needed to wipe the grin from my face!

It was then that I saw them! With a huge grin from Scott, I knew it was time. Like a total stalker I followed them over the dunes onto the wind swept beach and the entire plan fell perfectly into place. It was beautiful, even though I was a fair way up the beach, just to see it unfold was enough to have me in goosebumps!

..... yep, ok maybe I had a tear in my eye because I'm a total romantic!

I was revealed to Louise as an extra part to the story, bounding over with a bottle of bubbly.
Scott has certainly set the bar for all the other men around him, it was an impressive effort which paid off with a YES!
Congratulations Scott & Louise. Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such a amazing moment in your lives. It was truly an honor!

I drove home on a high, singing like a total loser to the Glee soundtrack. Everything at that moment was good in my world. I will remember this session for a very long time.
